Richard Cording & Ann Browne

Sally’s 7-great Grandparents & 9-great Grandparents:

Richard Cording, surgeon ca 1625- ca 1668 | his parents
& Ann Browne ca 1648 – | her parents
& ca 1668 Mr. Southerland | his parents
of Norfolk Co, VA

This is my working hypothesis – the way I see it as of this moment!!

Richard Cording was a surgeon who died about 1668.
His wife Ann Browne remarried a Southerland.
Ann Browne was daughter of Lt. Col. Thomas Browne of Lower Norfolk Co, Va.
Thomas Browne died in 1666 and his will names sons: Thomas, John, Henry, Christopher, and William and daughters: Ann Cording, Elizabeth Browne, and Mary Browne.

Children of Richard Cording and Ann Browne:
1. Thomas Cording ca 1655 – ?

2. probably another son

Children of Ann Browne and Mr. Sotherland:
Several sons

  1. Did you ever find a Will for Dr. Richard Cording? I am also searching for his parents and if he was an immigrant to VA. and if so, from where did he come?

    1. Apparently, Dr. Cording did not leave a will. We know about him from other records in Norfolk Co VA, including his father-in-law’s will.
