Samuel Walkup & ???

Sally’s great-great-great Grandparents:

Samuel Walkup ca 1770 – 1830 |his parents
& Lovey Gregory ca 1772 – ca 1839 | her parents.
Of Camden County, North Carolina

This is my working hypothesis – the way I see it as of this moment!!

Samuel Walkup married Lovey, his wife, ca 1789 in Camden Co., NC.

Samuel Walkup, son of John Wachup, shoemaker, and his first wife, perhaps a daughter of Nathan Gregory and wife Susan, was born either in Camden or Currituck County ca 1770. Lydia’s mother’s name was Lovey Gregory, daughter of Edmund Gregory (Emily named her son Edmond W.)
(I remember faintly grandmother telling me that she was kin to the Coopers from over that way) born ca 1772 in Camden County and the granddaughter of David and Lovey Gregory. The census shows several daughters and perhaps a son or two in Sam Walkup’s household.

Samuel Walkup departed this life on 14 February 1830. (entry found in the Bible of Enoch P Daily printed in the Pasquotank Historical Society Yearbook Vol 4 ca.1983)

Lovey married 2nd 1836, James Bray.
