Yes. That made us all sit up and say , Hmmm— but in the interviews — my Uncle did in the 1960’s …a granddaughter said it was Mary Hudgins …..also on 3 of the kids marriage certificate …it states Mary Blanchard……..

Now we have many suppositions….: Mary Sarah Spivey — Mary Hudgins — Maybe confused with Grandmother …We also have family lore that Pallatiah was buried on Spivey land.?????? So maybe it is Spivey?

It appears that George Washington Blanchard’s 2nd wife — Martha Caroline Byrum Blanchard —gave the information on his Death Certificate…..also GW Blanchard on his death certificate stated that GW was Female….so even on official documents …you get errors.

I will get back to you on the daughters….alot went by nicknames…. Renee

  1. Linnie Margaret Blanchard and William Henry King are my great grand parents and I believe Pallatiah Blanchard / Mary Hudgins was my great great grand parents …. Been doing some digging as I am new to this

  2. Hello Dale:

Are you a descendant? I would love to exchange information with you. It was family lore that was passed on ….so sorry no actual documented proof.
    Regards, Renee Blanchard Haynes

  3. I see my dad’s name is listed about “George Winborne Blanchard”. It’s interesting to read about his family.

  4. Hey Renee,
I am trying to get proof of Palatiah Blanchard’s death (II). Could you send me in the right direction of where you read that he was killed by a tree limb falling on him, please? Thanks so much!
