e-mail from Lynn Holloman Fussinata Jan 18 2012
“Professional genealogist Helen Leary of Raleigh, NC, recently (2011) published an article in the North Carolina Journal of Genealogy on the Hollomans of Bertie and Hertford Counties and Ms Leary indicates that the John Holloman who died in Bertie Co. NC in 1824 was the son of Benjamin (d. 1752) BECAUSE that John passed to his children at his death in 1824 the same land that Benjamin had owned in 1752 that would have passed to Benjamin’s oldest son John by the law of primogeniture (in effect back in 1752) when a man died without a will.”
