Looking for male Boon descendant for DNA testing . .I am a descendant of Hertford Boons and have talked my dear brother into doing the Boon DNA Test. We have three matches so far, but none have solved my Boon questions. Any info is going to be great.

  1. I have reviewed your Boon web page and impressed with the detail and the use of primary source material to come up with reasonable hypotheses as to the origin of our family. My known lineage:
    Joseph Boon/Sarah Bass > Daniel Boon/Louise Boykin>William J. A. Boon>Daniel Ratcliffe Boon/Martha Munroe> Lem White Boone/Ledora Couch>William R Boone Sr/Pauline Welnack>William R Boone Jr/Kyoko Nakamizo.

I have good documentation of the family up to Sen. Joseph Boon II, but family before Joseph remains unclear to me.

Have you been to the genealogy center in Smithville, NC? I spoke with someone there some years ago, and when asked about material on the Boon family I was told that there was plenty. She suggested I plan a trip to their Center. I retired just this year and will sometime early 2020.

There was a website that’s no longer available by Bob Boone. He too had good documentation, some of which I saw at your site.

    Bill Boone
