e-mail from Lynn Holloman Fusinata “Professional genealogist Helen Leary of Raleigh, NC, recently (2011) published an article in the North Carolina Journal of Genealogy on the Hollomans of Bertie and Hertford Counties and Ms Leary indicates that the John Holloman who died in Bertie Co. NC in 1824 was the son of Benjamin (d. 1752) BECAUSE that John passed to his children at his death in 1824 the same land that Benjamin had owned in 1752 that would have passed to Benjamin’s oldest son John by the law of primogeniture (in effect back in 1752) when a man died without a will.”

Also, in this same direction, your John Freeman 1718 Chowan Co. father of Solomon Freeman 1738. 11 males clearly in this line have tested Y-DNA hologroup Q-M3 native american. 41 male freemans south of the james have tested Q-M3. Most likely all descendants of John 1718. It is likely that this John is the signer of some Chowanoke indian tribal land deeds. thanks again for your work, Gary

Hello,
I am searching for parents of Mary “Polly” Freeman, BD unk, married John Williford (son of Richard Williford) in Bertie Co NC 19 Jan 1804. (Mar Rec is on ancestry) Polly is named in John’s will probated in 1839 in Bertie Co NC.
In the above genealogy, a Sarah Freeman is named with a BD of c. 1784 and marrying Richard (John) Williford and dying after 1839. The dates fit for my Mary Polly and John.
Could these 2 women be the same person???
I got confused with the above genealogy. Who were Sarah’s parents?
Thank you,
Suzie Worthington Walters
