– a series of design workshops were held
– large pots of colorful flowers were planted at Sherwood Nursing home under leadership of Marsha Ross
– money was given for local 4-H Horticultural award and state youth awards
– club sponsored a youth essay entry
– National garden week displays were done at community public libraries
– a donation in honor of Eileen Kramer was made to landscape the local Girl Scout House
– a garden project was done with Even Start students [low income Spanish speaking young mothers]
– Jo Scarmardo won the state Mary Musick Exhibition table award
– Judith Schafer received Zone II World Class Woman of the year award for 2000-2001

2001-2002: Mrs. Robert [Sally] Koestler – “Conserve and Preserve” – 39 members
-GOLD CLUB –
– meeting place: College Station Conference Center 9:30 a m 2nd Fri
– the Club hosted the Zone II meeting – members made snowmen sitting in grapevine wreaths for the tables from gourds and grapevines furnished by member Norma Jean Stokes of the Franklin area.
– the Club gives garden landscape books, plants and tools to Habitat for Humanity
– 2 members work at the annual Habitat for Humanity garage sale to raise money to build local homes. Club receives state award for this work. the award money is given to local Habitat for Humanity
– a donation was made for an Endowed Chair of Floriculture/Greenhouse Crops at the Horticulture Department at TAMU
– Sally Koestler establishes web-site for club that included gardening infomation, flower show pictures and history of the club — club won first in state for her work.
– Club members voted to be a green club and not do award applications
