– The schools in the community continue to have well cared for campuses. At many community schools students are encouraged to take an active part in the appearance of their school. Garden Club members have helped students plant Arbor Day trees and gardens as well as give horticultural instruction.

– A fountain and meditation area was constructed in the cemetery and paid for with award funds.

[Due to vandalism and poor condition this fountain eventually had to be removed and was replaced with a new on built by the city. The original design executed by A&M students was beautiful and a good idea that did not prove practical for the long term, but it graced the cemetery entrance until 1992.]

– Club participated in establishing Brazos County Arboretum. The site is a nature area located within a flood plain adjacent to city cemetery. The local Native Plant Society maintains the area and has printed maps showing paths and identification of plants.
