1786 John Brittain married Mary Sessoms who was born 1764 Hertford Co, daughter of Cullen Sessoms and Rachel Perry

Deed Book pg. 115, John Brittian, Cooper of Hertford Co. N.C. to Micheal Brittian of the same. Has given to Micheal Brittian,100 acres in Bertie Co. N.C. east of Quioccason swamp in Capt. John Campbells line . and also the peice of land that I excepted of Wills in my son John Brittian deed this I give to him.

Rev. Thomas Hoggard, b. Bertie Co., N.C., son of Jesse Hoggard and Elizabeth Myers. He was ordained at Cool Springs Baptist Church, Gates Co., N.C.
He later pastored Capeharts, Ross and several other Baptist churches in Bertie Co., N.C. for many-many years while living in Pitch Landing, Hertford Co. N.C. Archertown, on Cedric Priece Farm was known as Hoggard Place.

  1. Thank you for wonderful family information. I am the daughter of Mary Katherine Palmer (Sawyer), she was the daughter of Harold T, Palmer and Josephine Britton (Palmer). George W. Britton and Wayland Britton were Josephine ‘s brothers. I remember going to Colerain as a youth and cleaning up Graves behind the family home.
