Elizabeth Rayner and Walter McFarlane had:
. . “Elizabeth told that when she met this Scotchman, Walter McFarlane was wearing a battle green suit and carried saddle bags as he had been going through the country buying up Government Lands.
He had a brother named Billy in Glasgow, Scotland.
They married and settled at the Nathan Cullens Place in Hertford County”

Another story was “Once after Elizabeth McFarlane had visited a sick neighbor with choking quenzy,
a panther followed Elizabeth home in the dark from the neighbor’s house, this badly frightened her.”
